The Highwayman is the first book in the new series Victorian Rebels by Kerrigan Byrne, and though this isn't my first read of Ms Byrne, this is my first full-length novel of hers I've read.

It's well-written, with a mixture of romance and mystery/5. The Highwayman is a Hal piece of writing from Kerrigan Byrne, (a new author to me), the use of dialogue, the mood, the interactions where all utterly flawless, with not only terrific multifaceted and complex characters but a plot line that was reminiscent of a hybrid between Beauty and the Beast and the Count of Monte Cristo/5().
