Thermochromic liquid crystal (TLC) is a substance that exhibits a definite color at a specific temperature. This feature has been explored by many researchers to study the heat transfer characteristics of surfaces. The idea of introducing new, modern and consequently often more demanding topics seems therefore completely obsolete. However, in this contribution I argue that this is not the case and that introduction of a new Liquid crystals are organic materials, which have an additional state of matter between the liquid state and the solid state.
